The most awesome things I learned in 2010 – part 1

The two best assumptions to make when meeting people:

For the past few years when I met a new person, I went into the situation neutrally. This was intentional; the idea was that if I were neutral about them I would be giving them a fair opportunity to represent themselves. And I still think this is an ok approach to meeting and thinking about people, but this summer I started doing something much more fun.

Now when I meet new people I assume two things:

1) I am really cool.
2) They are really cool too.

This puts me in a relaxed and playful mood. It trains my eye to find something awesome about that individual. The end result is, well, cool.
